A small house with a long view
Founded in 2011, Atelier Horloger is an independent boutique on Rue du Rhône. We buy, authenticate and sell fine watches — and we are honest about the difference between the three.
Most watches are sold. Ours are chosen. Every piece in the vitrine has been found — at auction, through estates, or from the first owners — and every one is examined for as long as it takes before it is offered.
The bench sees everything first. Our watchmakers dismantle, clean and time each movement, note the condition of dial and case under magnification, and record what they find. Those notes become the condition report you read on each product page. They are written to be faithful, not flattering.
“A watch should arrive with its history, not despite it.”
Marguerite Berger, co-founder
Chosen by hand
We keep a small vitrine. Six to ten pieces at a time, each one here because it does something well — a dial with real depth, a calibre with a story, a case that has aged the way only honest gold does. Nothing is stocked to fill space.
Documented honestly
Full set means full set. When original papers are missing, we say so and it is priced in. When a vintage dial has patina, we photograph it plainly in daylight. What you see online is what arrives — inspected by you for fourteen days before the sale is final.
Kept for life
A mechanical watch is a private arrangement between steel, oil and patience. Ours are set up to run for decades, and our workshop stands behind them: twenty-four months of warranty on every new sale, and a servicing relationship that continues well beyond it.
The vitrine stays small
Six to ten pieces, never more. Everything sold here was touched, worn and considered by someone who does this for a living.
Condition reports you can keep
Every note is written at the bench, under the loupe, and delivered with a signed certificate of authenticity.
Prices that need no theatre
No sales, no countdowns. Our prices are set once, fairly, and listed openly in US dollars, duties included for the EU, UK, US and Switzerland.
What the bench finds, the page tells
Amplitude, rate, hairline scratches, service history, strap wear — every finding is photographed and written down. If a piece needs work before it is worthy of you, we do the work first, then price the watch.
